WINGS 2009 Elected Fellow Jane Poynter, President of Global Sports Alliance USA, former Biospherian, celebrated author and television host, will launch her new book Champions for Change: Athletes Making a World of Difference at the United Nations on November 4, 2009 with a preview book signing at the Explorers Club on November 3rd.  The book features WINGS Fellows; Liv Arnesen, Sue Hendrickson and Stephanie Schwabe.

Champions for Change, Jane Poynter’s latest achievement in her lifelong dedication to promoting environmental conservation, looks through the eyes of today’s top athletes and explorers at a world in the grip of global warming, and asks how each of us can tap into our own heroism and help. In the book 38 elite athletes from around the world tell vivid tales of their sport and firsthand experiences with the changing world we live in. Part dazzling photographic essay, part call to action, Champions for Change guides readers of all ages through the climate change frontlines and into the lives of athletes working to make a difference.
