Be curious and persistent. Know that you have no limits and follow your passions.
-Susan Lee Hendrickson-

Through their tenacious dedication and remarkable contributions, explorers teach us so much about our planet and ourselves. Drawing on their lives and accomplishments, Wings is creating a variety of educational programs and materials, including lectures, workshops, resources, publications, media and this website.

Learn with Wings...

Programs: Wings is committed to advancing the pursuit of science and exploration through its educational outreach programs. The Art of Exploration introduces young people to scientists, artists and explorers and their endeavors, from Oceanography to Mars, and from Botany to Shakespeare. Wings sponsors, collaborates and participates in lectures and special programs, such as the Polar Weekend in honor of the International Polar Year as well as leading expeditions including the American Museum of Natural History educational adventure in Rajasthan.

Fellows: Every year, Wings honors outstanding Women of Discovery. All of the awardees, and other outstanding and accomplished explorers elected by the Board of Directors, become Fellows. The Fellows are an integral part of our education and outreach initiatives, as they participate in workshops, lectures and collaborate on educational materials. Check back as our Fellows Program continues to grow.

Flag Expeditions: Since 2005, Wings Flags have been carried on more than 30 expeditions of merit throughout the world. Through the publication of our Annual Flag Report, documenting each journey, Wings offers an opportunity for people of all ages to learn about the EXPLORERS unique and often unimaginable endeavors. The Wings Flag demonstrates our dedication to advancing the field of exploration and sharing the vision, optimism and perseverance that allows an individual to reach beyond the ordinary and experience the extraordinary.

Sponsored Projects: Through selected collaborations, Wings supports important exploration and research projects in line with our mission that can, in turn, inform our educational outreach programs.

Resources: Wings is always seeking ways to transform the contributions and personal stories of our explorers into tangible resources that will educate and inspire people of all ages. New projects are always in development, so visit often to see what's new.
