Julia Pardoe (1806 - 1862)

Biography
Born in Yorkshire, England and became a poet and a writer. In 1832 she traveled to Constantinople with her father, Major Thomas Pardoe who served at Waterloo. SHe wrote a number of travel memoires and novels includingThe City of the Sultan (1836). Her first book was about Portugul.
