MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS SENIOR ASSOCIATE (FULL-TIME PAID)
About this opportunity:
WINGS is seeking a dedicated Marketing and Communications Senior Associate to support the development and implementation of marketing and communications.
This position is a great opportunity to acquire real hands-on experience with a growing NGO and offers diverse learning opportunities. This position reports to the Executive Director.
WINGS is celebrating our 20th anniversary, culminating in our 2023 Women of Discovery Awards in NYC on October 12th. We are looking for an individual who will bring thoughtful ideas to the table for promotion, marketing and communication around our events and programming throughout the year, as well as our marquee event in October.
Responsibilities:
· In conjunction with the Executive Director and key stakeholders, develop, implement and manage a comprehensive marketing and communications plan with a cohesive voice across all communications platforms
· Conduct research on and interview women in the sciences and exploration
· Assist in the writing and editing of newsletters/e-publications/blog
· Draft Flag Expedition Reports with submissions from explorers around the world
· Draft and edit press releases
· Liaise with explorers and other key stakeholders
· Execute and design (including proofreading and editing) two monthly newsletters
· Complete communications related administrative tasks on behalf of the Executive Director, including internal calendar
· Maintain and update CRM software, leveraging capabilities for internal and external communications
Skills/Qualifications:
· 3-5 years of professional experience
· Strong verbal and written communications skills
· Computer skills: Google Drive/Microsoft Suite/Dropbox
· Experience in the following areas preferred:
- Photoshop/Illustrator/Indesign
- Kindful/Squarespace
- Email marketing/database
· Attention to detail and ability to work on a deadline
· Ability to work independently
· Strong creative thinking, intellectual curiosity and interest in the bigger picture
